SprintPack Logistics: "ADD detects changes in the marketplace so that we can absorb new risks"
Businesses are inevitably at risk. SprintPack Logistics, a logistics service provider, has therefore been well insured through ADD for many years. The company is specialized in logistics solutions, also for e-commerce. SprintPack provides parcel distribution, third party logistics (3PL) and takes care of the logistic side of webshops.
Hans Scherlippens, CEO of SprintPack Logistics, gives his opinion on the role of an insurance broker and how ADD takes on that role.
Insurance broker as intermediary
“ADD is an independent insurance broker who always remains independent. Although ADD is part of the KBC Group, I have not yet been able to detect that they favour KBC's insurance products. An insurance broker must objectively present the various insurances and be an intermediary between customers and insurers”.
Insurance broker as a consultant
“For me, an insurance broker must also be an advisor who proactively seeks protection for potential risks. And that's what ADD does. ADD's account managers know the different types of insurance on the market and their specific characteristics. They compare the policies for us, but we make the final choice. When a new product comes on the market, ADD advises us. This way, you stay informed about the changing market conditions and know which new risks arise. That is the advisory role of an insurance broker.”
“An example of this is the developments in the field of ICT security and hacking. On ADD's recommendations, we were one of the first companies to endorse an ICT Care policy, and I am very pleased that this was done on time. SprintPack is increasingly active in e-commerce and with the new privacy obligations that will come about in May 2018, we need to arm ourselves against ICT risks.”
“I greatly appreciate this proactive monitoring of the ADD staff. They identify needs in the market, they know what is happening in the world and on that basis they offer solutions to meet these needs.”
